Quick Update!

Finally, Spring has arrived.

Two things:

  • Due to a slower submission response, I've decided to keep the deadline for Vol 3 open until winter 2018, a proper deadline date will be announced in that season
  • If you are a self-published female writer who would like some publicity/reviews written about your book(s) on the blog, please get in touch (queries.redink@hotmail.com). Let's support women writers :)

Happy International Women's Day!

This is a fantastic time of year to celebrate all the wonderful achievements women have made to our world and society, and highlight the issues women face in the world today. In the wake of #EverydaySexism, #MeToo and #TimesUp, it's clear we still have a lot to do for true gender equality and the respect of women.

When I was working at a secondary school, we used to celebrate women's day through the whole of March--and so with that in mind, the submission deadlines for RED INK Vol 3 is being extended till the 31st March 2018! Check out the submission page for more info.

Keep fighting!

What would like like to see from RED INK?

The RED INK Project is expanding! As crazy as it sounds, 2017 is almost behind us and we're currently running a Twitter poll to see what kind of social events the readers and supporters would like to see in the new year. Let us know what you think. All of the events will be organised, but we would like to sort them in order of importance, as determined by you!

So, what do you like the sound of the most?

  • Monthly book clubs
  • Reading lunches, where RED INK authors get to read their excerpts or other works over tea and cakes
  • Spoken word/poetry nights
  • Parties/Festivals

Thanks for taking part!

Today is REDINK Day! Submissions for #REDINKVOL3 are open, and the deadline is 4th March 2018. The title for Vol. 3 is BLACK, BLUE AND RED ALL OVER and will document the experiences  of women of colour. White supremacy and far-right nationalist groups are on the rise, and with this resurgence women of colour have been confronted with the dehumanizing ideology that they are less than, or less important, than others. I think this volume will help to illuminate and educate men of colour, white men and white women also.

If you are not able to submit to the anthology, feel free to submit to the blog, we at RED INK would love to hear from you!

Welcome to the new site!

After a few years on Weebly, the Project has finally made the move to Squarespace! And with the new look, we have some new announcements!

On the 13th November, we'll be announcing the details for REDINK Vol 3! You can use the hashtag #REDINKVol3 on Twitter to spread the word.

On this date, we'll also be publishing the final PayPal receipts of book sales, to donate these to Daughters of Eve, the organisation that Out of Body Experience's proceeds are for.

Just a reminder that the next volume, and all volumes afterwards, will be free to purchase, and the Project will be running entirely on donations, sponsors and funding.
